TRANSPORT SCOTLAND UPDATES MORAY MSP ON BRODIE ROAD SAFETY INVESTIGATIONS07/02/2023
Transport Scotland has written to Moray MSP, Richard Lochhead, to update him on road safety investigations being carried out at Brodie in response to local concerns.
Mr Lochhead met with Transport Scotland, Amey and Police Scotland on-site at Brodie at the end of September to discuss concerns about road safety through the village. Transport Scotland committed to carrying out further speed surveys and a review of road signage and layout.
Moray’s MSP has now received an update confirming that the speed surveys have been carried out and the results are currently being reviewed by Amey. Transport Scotland has also indicated the road markings and signage review will be completed early this year by Amey, the operating company.
Commenting Richard Lochhead MSP said:
“Following my multi-agency meeting at Brodie a few months ago where we discussed local concerns over road safety through the village, Transport Scotland and Amey committed to a number of actions which included carrying out new speed surveys in the area.
“Transport Scotland has now confirmed to me that the speed survey is complete and the results are currently being reviewed by Amey.
“The roads authorities also agreed to review the road signage and markings and although this hasn’t yet been carried out, I have been assured by Transport Scotland this will be done early this year.
“I welcome the update and hope the second stage of the review is carried out as soon as possible. I will continue to keep the community up to date on progress and next steps.”
