RESPONSE FROM OFFICE OF RICHARD LOCHHEAD MSP TO TIMETABLE CHANGES PROPOSED BY STAGECOACH

Responding to the planned changes to Stagecoach’s operations in North Scotland, a spokesperson for Richard Lochhead MSP said: 

“Some of the changes proposed by Stagecoach are extremely concerning. In particular, in Moray, the loss of the stops at Kinloss and Findhorn, on the number 32 Elgin-Forres service will leave many residents isolated.

“The likely loss of jobs from the Elgin Depot is also very worrying.

“While Stagecoach have argued that they are struggling to cover the cost of running many local services and are trying to get the business onto a sustainable footing, it is vital that public transport is available for people living in out-of-town areas.

“As an office, we will be requesting a meeting with representatives from Stagecoach in the near future to raise the concerns of Richard’s constituents and to seek assurances that everything is being done to avoid redundancies.”
