Moray’s SNP Parliamentarians, Richard Lochhead MSP and Angus Robertson MP, have hailed the success of local building firms in the Homes for Scotland Awards this week.

Elgin based Springfield Properties scooped the main ‘Home Builder of the Year’ Award, while Bill Robertson CBE of Robertson Group, also based in Elgin, received a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Richard Lochhead MSP said:

“It was great to see two of Moray’s best known business leaders in the shape of Sandy Adam and Bill Robertson scooping major awards at the Homes for Scotland Awards Ceremony.

“Springfield’s success at the awards is fantastic for the Moray firm and is testament to the hard work and innovation of both the management team and the wider staff as they continue to provide high quality homes for thousands of people across Scotland.

“Bill Robertson’s Lifetime Achievement Award is equally deserved with a substantial legacy built up in the shape of Robertson Group. Great news for the individuals, the companies and Moray as a whole.”

Angus Robertson MP said:

“I am delighted to see Moray based businesses dominating these awards, which are amongst the most prestigious in the housebuilding sector.

“The hard work, particularly, in the challenging economic environment of recent years is a huge credit to them and the awards thoroughly deserved.

“It is great to see homegrown success from Moray and long may that continue!”
