MSP WELCOMES PROGRESS IN PLANS FOR NEW KEITH HEALTH CENTRE
10/04/2019Moray Health and Social Care Partnership has confirmed to Moray’s MSP that additional funding has been secured from NHS Grampian to appoint a project manager for the new Keith Health Centre project.
Richard Lochhead has supported the Keith Patient Participation Group’s campaign for a new health centre and has held talks with NHS Grampian and the Scottish Government on the need for progress.
Chief Officer Pam Gowans updated the MSP this week and stated that once a project manager is in place the development of plans and public engagement can begin.
Welcoming the step forward Mr Lochhead said:
“There’s strong support in the community for a new health centre in the town and we know from previous discussions with the health board that Keith is the top priority in Moray for replacement.
“The Keith Patient Participation Group have worked incredibly hard on their campaign for a new centre and we’ve had discussions with the relevant public agencies, including the Health Secretary’s visit to the health centre, to make that case.
“That NHS Grampian has now allocated funding for a project manager to take forward the plans for a new health centre is a big step forward and will no doubt be welcomed by the community.
“We have a long way to go but once the project manager is in post we’ll be able to focus minds on next steps and engaging with the public about what the needs are within the community and how NHS Grampian can deliver for the people of Keith.”
