MSP COMMENTS ON MORAY'S FIRST PRIDE EVENT

Commenting on the success of Moray's first ever pride event, Richard Lochhead MSP said:

"It was an honour to be invited to speak at Moray's first ever Pride event, which was a very special and monumental day. 

"Elgin was the most colourful I've ever seen it and it was a real joy to see people turn out in big numbers to celebrate the LGBT community. 

"We've made great strides in the fight for equality for LGBT people but there is much more to do and prejudice still to be tackled. 

"It was a poinent reminder for me as an MSP as to the serious responsibility I have to ensure I am always doing the best I can to stand up for and advocate for LGBT people in Moray and across Scotland. 

"I want to congratulate the organisers for making Moray's first Pride a huge success and I've no doubt people are looking forward to the next one already."
