MORAY MSP LAUNCHES ANNUAL CHAIRTY CHRISTMAS CARD COMPETITION
19/10/2023Richard Lochhead has launched his charity Christmas card for 2023, with all proceeds going to Moray Women’s Aid.
Children from primary schools across Moray have been asked to submit designs with a ‘local community’ theme, with the winning design being used on the front of Richard’s Christmas card.
The competition, which Mr Lochhead runs annually, has raised money for many local charities over the years and saw Moray Food Plus presented with a cheque for £2,250 last year.
Commenting, Richard Lochhead MSP said:
“I am really looking forward to seeing the entries for our 2023 Christmas card competition – I’m sure we’ll receive some fantastic designs again this year and it will no doubt be very difficult choosing a winner!
“Last year, I was delighted to present Moray Food Plus with a cheque for £2,250 and I hope we can raise a substantial sum for Moray Women’s Aid with the very generous sponsorship and support from Moray businesses.
“Moray Women’s Aid are a very worthy local charity, providing important support services and safe accommodation to women and children experiencing domestic abuse throughout Moray.
“Any businesses who would like to get involved are welcome to contact my office.”
Elle Johnston, Services Manager at Moray Women’s Aid said:
“Moray Women’s Aid is delighted to be the beneficiaries of Richard Lochhead’s charity Christmas cards this year.
“Moray Women’s Aid has experienced its busiest year to date, receiving over 600 referrals for women and 125 for children in need of our services. The monies received will provide us the opportunity to invite more families to our Christmas ‘Get togethers’ and seasonal festivities.”
