MORAY MSP CALLS FOR NHS GRAMPIAN TO MEET PUBLIC OVER MATERNITY PLANS
15/12/2022Richard Lochhead MSP for Moray is calling for NHS Grampian to present its plans for the restoration of a consultant led service at Dr Gray;s Hospital to the local community.
Draft plans are set to be approved by NHS Grampian’s board today [Thursday 15 December] before being submitted to the Scottish Government.
Mr Lochhead is urging NHS Grampian’s Chief Executive to hold an open meeting to present plans to the public and to give people in Moray the opportunity to find out more about how these vital services will be restored.
Commenting Richard Lochhead MSP said:
“The public have been waiting a long time for a robust and urgent plan to restore consultant led maternity services in Moray. The restoration of these vital services cannot happen soon enough.
“It is crucial that NHS Grampian takes the community with them as they begin work to reinstate services at Dr Gray’s and I think the health board openly presenting its plans to the public early in the new year would be a good start.
“People in Moray need to see NHS Grampian’s commitment to maternity services in Moray and a public presentation of plans would allow the community the opportunity to have their questions answered.”
