MORAY MP URGES FOLK TO 'WEAR IT PINK' IN OCTOBER
09/09/2016
Moray’s MP Angus Robertson is backing cancer charity Breast Cancer Now’s ‘Wear it Pink’ campaign, which raises awareness of breast cancer and also raises around 2 million pounds every year that funds world-class breast cancer research across the UK and Ireland.
Local MP Mr Robertson took part in an awareness raising event in Westminster this week ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness month, which takes place in October, with the highlight being ‘Wear it Pink’ Day on Friday 21 October.
Angus Robertson MP said:
“Wear it Pink is both a fun and serious campaign raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
“October marks Breast Cancer Awareness month and there will be many folk around Moray who will be taking part in ‘Wear it Pink’ events in schools, in workplaces and with friends.
“I am very pleased to support the work of the UK’s largest breast cancer charity ‘Breast Cancer Now’ and I would encourage people who would like to take part in fundraising and raising awareness of their work to visit their campaign website to see how you can get involved.”
