LOCHHEAD WELCOMES NEW SUPPLY CHAIN DISTILLING JOBS FOR MORAY13/04/2023
Richard Lochhead MSP has welcomed news that whisky industry engineering firm Briggs of Burton is set to open a new Scottish Hub in Forres.
The Moray office will lead new projects in Speyside whilst also serving current clients including Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, and Mortlach distilleries, and will create at least ten new jobs in the region.
Commenting Moray’s SNP MSP Richard Lochhead said:
“The whisky industry continues to go from strength to strength, with global exports breaking records hitting £6bn and locally we’re seeing huge investment in sites across Speyside.
“It’s great to welcome a new supply chain firm to the area, which is a sign of real strength and confidence in the local industry, and of course the creation of any new jobs in Moray is to be celebrated. I understand that Briggs of Burton already work with a number of well-known distilleries in the area and having a presence in the region will allow the firm to expand their experience within the whisky industry and to support the local economy.
“I hope to have the opportunity to visit their new Moray base in due course and to hear more about their plans for investment in the area.”
