LOCHHEAD WELCOMES KEITH DENTAL PROVISION

Moray MSP, Richard Lochhead, has welcomed the news that an ‘NHS-committed’ owner is to take on the lease of the Strathisla Dental Practice in Keith saying that it is “great news”.

The operators of the ‘8to8’ dental practice in Buckie are due to take over the running of the Keith based practice at the beginning of August.  The practice in Buckie currently runs as an ‘NHS-committed’ service.

Commenting on the news that NHS dental provision is to be continued in Keith and the surrounding area, Richard Lochhead MSP said:

“I am delighted that people in Keith and Strathisla are going to continue being able to access an NHS dentist.  This is something that the SNP Scottish Government have worked hard to make happen throughout the country.

“Since my election as MSP for Moray in 2006 I have campaigned hard to ensure that people in Moray have access to an NHS dentist.  A lack of access to NHS dentists was an issue that many people raised with me when I was first elected and I am glad to see that this has improved significantly.

“This is great news for the people of Keith and Strathisla and I wish the new operators of the practice all the very best when they take on the new lease in August.”
