LOCHHEAD RESPONDS TO CLOSURE OF BURGHEAD AND HOPEMAN SURGERIES

Commenting on the decision taken by the Moray Integrated Joint Board today on the closure of GP surgeries in Burghead and Hopeman, Moray’s SNP MSP Richard Lochhead said: 

“This decision will come as a real blow to residents in Burghead and Hopeman and the groups involved in the campaign to retain their local GP surgeries.

“As MSP I did respond to the consultation outlining local concerns and pressing for every option to be explored before reaching a final decision. Clearly, the decision that has been reached is big step backwards and many patients in Burghead and Hopeman will be concerned about accessing GP services going forward.

“I will continue to push for other solutions to be explored to ensure GP services are easily accessible for everyone living in these communities.”
