LOCHHEAD LAUNCHES CHARITY CHRISTMAS CARD COMPETITION
12/11/2024Moray MSP Richard Lochhead has launched his annual charity Christmas card for 2024, with all proceeds this year going to Step By Step in Moray.
Step By Step in Moray work with families who feel isolated or vulnerable and help them to develop friendships, confidence and skills which will enhance their lives and enable them to give their children the best start in life.
Children from primary schools across Moray have been asked to submit designs inspired by a ‘friendship’ theme, with the winning design being used on the front of Richard’s Christmas card.
The competition, which Mr Lochhead runs annually, has raised thousands of pounds for many local charities over the years and saw Moray Women’s Aid presented with a cheque for £1,900 last year.
Commenting, Richard Lochhead MSP said:
“We’re once again approaching the festive season and I am really looking forward to seeing the entries for our 2024 Christmas card competition where it is always very difficult choosing a winner!
“Last year, I was delighted to present Moray Women’s Aid with a cheque for £1,900 and I hope we can raise a substantial sum for Step By Step in Moray with the very generous sponsorship and support from Moray businesses.
“Step By Step in Moray are a very worthy local charity, offering learning and development for families in a supportive and friendly environment.
“Any businesses who would like to get involved are welcome to contact my office.”
Gareth Jenkins, Project Manager at Step By Step in Moray added:
“We are delighted to be the beneficiaries of Richard Lochhead's charity Christmas card this year. As parents continue to navigate their way through whatever challenges they may face, our numbers continue to rise. Therefore, any monies received helps us support our 250 families across 17 groups.”
- Businesses interested in sponsorship of the Christmas card should contact Richard’s Parliamentary Office on Lewis.Featch@parliament.scot or 01343 545077.
- The competition closes to entries on Friday 15 November 2024.
