LOCHHEAD JOINS CHILDCARE MINISTER FOR BREAKFAST AT EARTHTIME

Moray’s MSP joined the Scottish Government Minister for Childcare and Early Years, Mark McDonald MSP, on a visit to the leading outdoor nursery, Earthtime, on Friday.

The visit, which took place at Duffus Estate, was arranged by Mr Lochhead who was keen for the Childcare Minister to see first-hand the good work being done locally and to provide those involved at Earthtime the opportunity to brief the Minister on their plans for the future.

Mr Lochhead and Mr McDonald joined the kids for breakfast on the last day before the summer holidays, with their visit coinciding with an open day to raise funds for expanding the nursery.

Speaking after the meeting, Richard Lochhead MSP said:

"I was absolutely delighted to join the Childcare and Early Years Minister on his visit to Earthtime, where we enjoyed some excellent French toast cooked over the fire.

"After meeting with Earthtime earlier in the year, I invited the Minister to visit Earthtime to see the excellent work they're doing locally and the fantastic outdoor education they're providing kids in Moray .

"Earthtime really is leading the way, providing kids with real opportunities to learn and develop in an outdoor environment, and encouraging them to connect to with nature from a very young age. They're doing a great job and I'm thrilled they got the chance to show the Minister what they're doing and to tell him about their plans for the future."
