Richard Lochhead MSP said:
“I’m a big supporter of fairtrade and think it’s important to support fairtrade initiatives to ensure better prices, working conditions, sustainability and fair terms for farmers and workers.
“The local community in Aberlour and the Aberlour Fairtrade Town Group do a fantastic job promoting fairtrade and have shown real leadership locally, promoting big global issues like equality, sustainable development and climate justice.
“It was great to join the Aberlour Fairtrade Group at their coffee morning to mark Fairtrade Fortnight, where the local Scouts did a good job keeping everyone fed and watered. It was a real community effort with stalls organised by both Aberlour Primary and Speyside High pupils, and a Traidcraft stall from Aberlour Parish Church. Everyone was doing their bit to be good global citizens.”
