LOCHHEAD ENCOURAGES STAKEHOLDERS TO ATTEND NATIONAL CARE SERVICE EVENT IN MORAY

24/05/2023

Richard Lochhead MSP is encouraging those with an interest in health and social care services to sign up for regional events taking place in Elgin to discuss plans for a National Care Service.

People in Moray are being invited to have their say on the future of care services in Scotland at regional forum events at the Inkwell in Elgin on Tuesday 22nd August.

Commenting Mr Lochhead said:

“Ensuring that care services in Moray and across the country are sustainable and built to meet the needs of local people is a priority for the Scottish Government. I know just how vital these services are and how much they are valued by those depend on their carers.

“The Scottish Government has been working on plans to develop a National Care Service and these regional meetings, including those held in Elgin, will allow anyone who uses social care services, has a loved one that relies on care, or has worked in the sector, to have their voices heard and to shape how plans progress.

“Generally, there is agreement that transforming social care in Scotland can bring about real benefits both for workers and those who use social care services, and in order to get that transformation right, decision makers need to hear from those with real life experience of the current system. I’d encourage anyone in Moray with an interest in these issues to register for the Elgin or online events and to join the national conversation on how best we reform social care.”
