LOCHHEAD ENCOURAGES MORAY ORGANISATIONS TO BID FOR CLIMATE ENGAGEMENT FUND

10/04/2024

Richard Lochhead, MSP for Moray, is encouraging local organisations to bid for funding through the Scottish Government’s Climate Engagement fund.

The £250,000 fund, which aims to engage people across Scotland in tackling the climate emergency, will support activities including climate festivals, skills workshops, exhibitions, and youth development programmes.

Mr Lochhead is encouraging Moray groups and organisations to consider applying for funding to help raise awareness of climate change and to encourage climate action locally.

Commenting Moray’s SNP MSP said:

“If Scotland is to meet our ambitious target of reaching net zero by 2045, it is vital that people across the country understand the nature and scale of the climate emergency, the actions that can be taken to help, and how communities can be supported to play their part.

“There are a number of community groups and organisations in Moray already doing great work to raise awareness of the climate emergency and to support people in their area to take positive action to tackle climate change.

“And of course we’re already seeing the impacts of a changing climate here in Moray and right across the globe.

“I’d encourage local groups to consider whether they might have a project that could benefit from the Scottish Government’s Climate Engagement Fund and would urge them to apply if so.”

Applications for the Climate Engagement Fund will close on 7 May 2024.
