DENTIST REGISTRATIONS MORE THAN DOUBLE UNDER SNP

SNP MSP Richard Lochhead has hailed the latest NHS figures that show NHS dentist registrations have rocketed under the SNP – with 170% more adults registered in NHS Grampian since 2007.
The number of children in the region registered with an NHS dentist has also risen dramatically with 91% now registered - a 58% rise since 2007.
Across Scotland there are now 107% more adults and 43% more children registered with an NHS dentist than before the SNP came into power.
Commenting, SNP MSP for Moray, Richard Lochhead, said:
“This SNP Scottish Government has taken huge strides in improving the oral health of people in Moray and across Scotland.
“Since the SNP came to power, efforts to increase the number of people receiving regular dental check-ups is paying off, with the number of adults registered more than doubling across Scotland.
“I have campaigned hard to ensure that people in Moray have access to an NHS dentist since I was first elected as MSP for Moray back in 2006. A lack of access to NHS dentists was an issue that people regularly raised with me when I was first elected and I am glad to see that over the last ten years or so this has improved significantly.
“Of course there’s always room for improvement, and I hope to see more people in Moray ensuring they are able to access a local NHS dentist."
