DEADLINE LOOMS FOR MSP'S ANNUAL CHARITY CHRISTMAS CARD COMPETITION

14/11/2017

CHILDREN ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT THEIR ENTRIES

Children in Moray have until Friday 17th November to submit their Christmas Card Design to Richard Lochhead’s annual charity competition.

The winning design will be used for the Moray MSP’s Christmas card and the theme of this year’s competition is family and friends.

The competition has already attracted sponsorship from several Moray businesses. Each year the MSP uses his card to highlight the work of a local charity and this year will raise funds for Alzheimer Scotland Moray.

Alzheimer Scotland Moray provides support to those in Moray living with dementia and their families.

Last year Richard Lochhead and his staff received training from Alzheimer Scotland Moray to become an Dementia Friend.

Commenting, Mr Lochhead said:

“Over the years we have had a huge number of entries from children all over Moray and every year we have great designs to choose from.

“This year’s competition theme is family and friends and I’m really looking forward to seeing the entries for this year’s Christmas Card competition. In past years I’ve seen many fantastic designs from some very talented young people in Moray and I know that I can expect the same again!

“Each year I nominate a charity working in Moray to highlight in the card and to raise money for them with the help of very generous sponsorship from local businesses.  This year the money raised will go to Alzheimer Scotland Moray who do a fantastic job providing support to folk in Moray living with dementia.”

The 2016 Christmas Card Competition raised funds for Clan Cancer Support and was won by Gloria Johnston of St Thomas' Primary School in Keith.
