Ongoing broadband frustrations in Spey Bay may soon be resolved if recent work by Openreach pays off.

It has been a source of frustration for Spey Bay that nearby communities have already had fibre delivered but Spey Bay has had to continue with copper connections which have proved unreliable, leading to slow speeds and frequent drop outs.

Now, after communication with Openreach by local SNP Councillor Dave Bremner, a survey has been conducted as to how best to address the problems in the area.

Councillor Dave Bremner said:

"I have heard repeatedly both before being elected and since about the connectivity issue in Spey Bay and I am delighted that there might finally be a resolution.

“There is still some way to go, but having the area surveyed and Openreach drawing up schematics as to how to improve things for the area is huge step forward.

“It shows a level of commitment from BT to resolve the issue and I will work with them to find an effective solution that gets folk in Spey Bay properly connected.”
