06/04/2017Park celebrates nationwide best employer award
MP Angus Robertson has teamed up with guests and team members to officially start the holiday season at Silver Sands Holiday Park in Lossiemouth.
The visit, which took place on Friday, was organised as part of Scottish Tourism Week to celebrate the vibrancy and quality of tourism in Scotland, which has been described by the Scottish Government as the country’s “most important industry".
Mr Robertson was taken on a tour of Silver Sands by General Manager Rebecca Grant to see how the park has spent almost £1million over the past two years to improve infrastructure and add new caravan pitches to increase its capacity.
Angus Robertson MP said: “It is great to see Bridge Leisure’s substantial investment at Silver Sands, which plays a significant role in Moray’s tourism offer. Under previous owners the holiday park’s reputation suffered but it is certainly getting a new lease of life under the new management and the work that has been done has really improved the facilities and made it very attractive to those choosing to visit.
“Bridge Leisure are predicting a record year at Silver Sands following their investment in facilities and additional pitches and that is very good news for other local businesses who will benefit from tourism spend, which supports thousands of jobs right across Moray.”
Rebecca Grant, Silver Sands General Manager said: "The staycation trend of recent years has seen both holiday bookings and holiday home ownership grow, and we think that 2017 is going to be another record-breaking year at Silver Sands.
“We were delighted to officially start our season with a visit from Mr Robertson and to be joined by so many guests eager to see the changes we have made at Silver Sands.”
