Moray’s MP Angus Robertson joined people across the UK to pay respect to servicemen and women who have died in conflict.

The MP, who is also the SNP Depute Leader and Westminster Leader, attended the ceremony at the Cenotaph war memorial in London on Sunday to mark the occasion on behalf of the SNP and Plaid Cymru of Wales.

Angus Robertson also layed a wreath to pay his respects that is inscribed with the words “Lest we forget” in English, Gaelic and Welsh.

Angus Robertson MP commented:

“We stand in tribute and poignant memory of those who have, and continue, to sacrifice their lives and freedom so that we may have ours.

“In service to their country, together we pay our respects.

“With all the challenges we face from terrorism and other threats, we must praise their courage and their professionalism in ensuring that peace and freedom is a right to be enjoyed by all and not a privilege for few.

“The sacrifice that they make is one we can never truly comprehend. And so, for them, we stand silent and remember.”
