A ‘strong and positive report’ following the inspection of Tomintoul Primary School has been welcomed by Speyside Glenlivet SNP Councillor, Louise Laing.
The report rated all aspects of the school’s performance as either ‘Very good’ or ‘Good’, while a parallel report on the school’s nursery by the Care Inspectorate rated all aspects as ‘Very good’.
Speaking after publication of the report Cllr Laing said:
“This is a s really strong and positive report about Tomintoul Primary, indeed it is one of the best reports for any school in Moray in recent years.
“I hope this puts to bed the idea that smaller rural schools are somehow a burden when, in fact, many are producing some of the best teaching and outcomes for young people.
“The whole school from pupils to teachers and parents, as well as the wider Tomintoul community, can be very proud of what is being achieved and long may it continue!”
