We are sad to report the unexpected and sad loss of Forres Community Stalwart and long-time SNP activist Gordon Macdonald. Gordon had been an SNP member for several decades and was a popular, weel kent and active member in Forres Branch.
Angus Robertson MP met him recently at Armed Forces Day in Keith. He said:
“Gordon was well known in and around Forres and has been a particularly active SNP member over many, many years. He was a very proud veteran and I met him recently at Armed Forces Day in Keith where he was in great form. He was always great company and will be sorely missed by all who knew him and my thoughts are with his family at this sad time.”
MSP Richard Lochhead also commented on Gordon's contribution to his community:
" Gordon MacDonald will be sorely missed by the Forres community and by all his friends in the SNP, a party he supported ever since the early days when it wasn't fashionable. Gordon was a lovely, good man who had served his country in the forces and was a familiar face helping to organise remembrance parades in Forres and I had the honour of his company at the service in November last year and his absence at future events will be difficult for everyone."
